Program description (Dispo)
Optimisation of operations and vehicle allocation of transport systems within extensive line networks makes maximum demands on a possible solution because of the high complexity of the problem. Particularly in cases of a multitude of train services in mixed utilisation, various traction unit classes, wagons and wagon groups, turning stations and special operational features, it is useful to use EDP-supported processes. Where smaller data quantities are involved, the use of EDP systems also leads to an increase in productivity.
Using the EDP system Dispo, the allocation officer can perform current daily tasks (e.g. ad-hoc planning) and long-term strategic planning (e.g. determination of vehicle requirements for future production concepts). Saving potentials and efficiency increases, which would remain hidden without the support of electronic systems, are disclosed.
